Biography
After graduating from The Ohio State University in
2005, Tim O'Neill made his journey south to warmer
climates. Tim currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia. He
teaches 5th grade in a Title I elementary school. He
became a Special Education teacher because of the
large number of today’s students lacking a positive
male role model. In his years of teaching, the
majority of students on his caseload have not yet, by
5th grade, found a passion for reading. So often,
students at an urban setting such as his school find it
difficult to relate to the majority of books with which
they come in contact. His students have been very
successful in his seven years because he feels as
though he has been able to create a classroom
atmosphere that is safe, fun, and exciting and allows
him to build rapport to the point that his students refer
to his class as family. His stories are typically created
in order to reach students who may better relate to the
characters and the rhythm and rhyme with which they
have grown accustomed through their musical
preferences.
